I take great pride in writing this message to invite and welcome recruiters to participate in the placement process for MBA (Business Economics) students from our campus. Under the ambit of the University of Delhi, the Department of Business Economics (now known as Department of Finance and Business Economics) pioneered India’s first master’s degree program in Business Economics in 1973. With fifty glorious years of strategic experience in producing industry leaders, the Department can boast of creating an eminent cadre that just stands out from the rest. Over the years, this program has established itself in the field of quantitative research and data analytics.
In India’s 75th year of independence and the University of Delhi’s centenary year, Business Economics is ready to celebrate its “Golden Jubilee” in 2023. The global economy is making great strides as we leave the pandemic behind. India’s economy has recently overtaken UK’s economy to become the fifth largest in the world. It is expected to reach the third position in the next three years. The need for consultants, data analysts and managers with a strong foundation in economics, quantitative techniques, finance, marketing and other functional areas in the corporate world, think tanks and policy circles has never been greater.
The current batch of Business Economics students has had the unique rewarding experience of learning in both online and physical modes. I am happy to share that they have learnt the importance of awareness, flexibility, adaptation and communication in their dealings with superiors, peers and juniors. This along with their robust training in the subject matter and practical experience will hold them is good stead in their professional careers.
